Overview: Christmas Valley Backscatter Site Multiple-Use Project

The development of alternative energy projects has received great interest in recent years, with the increasing awareness that rural communities that have been hard hit by downturns in the timber industry. The goal of this project is to pursue multiple use of the Christmas Valley Backscatter site to support national defense and renewable energy.

The Oregon Solutions process is designed to leverage other community, state, and federal resources for the project, as well as delineating roles and responsibilities for project implementation. The goals of this project are:

1.) Define the potential alternate uses of backscatter site.

2.) Define and analyze options for transfer to the backscatter land and infrastructure.

3.) Define renewable energy options and development approach.
