Overview: Mosier Bike/Pedestrian Path

An Oregon Solutions team will develop an integrated plan for completion and maintenance of a bike/pedestrian trail and bridge along Historic Columbia River Highway, including a new bike/pedestrian bridge over Mosier Creek. Determining the best pool of funds, timing, budget, design, and construction steps necessary to address the need for a bicycle pedestrian bridge across Mosier Creek is another top priority.

Both these items clearly present a challenge, in terms of scale and complexity for a very small town (460 people in the City Limits in 2006). With the population of Mosier increasing from 244 in 1990 and with more than 90 new residential units or lots approved within the City since the last population estimate in 2006, the need for well coordinated downtown efforts to meet local demands is growing rapidly. Demand for a safe, aesthetic, and functional down town core is further increased by increasing regional recreation and other visits.
